Filofaxing knitter

My two favourite obsessions … the Filofax organisers and knitting.

I was lucky to find this pocket sized Pak in a charity shop.

Originally, I planned to use it as a wallet however, fellow Filofaxing knitter Nadia suggested I use it as a knitting case.

So now, I store my interchangeable KnitPro needle tips in the card slots and a pad post it notes. On the right is a very pretty floral dashboard made from a birthday card.

I recycled the plastic sleeve protectors that some birthday cards have over them. I used decorative tape from Tiger to make pockets for the cables.  I carry  20cm, 40cm,  60cm, 80cm, and 100cm knitting cables

I made another pocket using the cover of a knitting magazine.

I use a clear zipped pocket to store a few stitch markers and a yarn needle.

All zipped up and ready to come along to a Dublin Knit Collective Knitworking session.

Take Note with a TN

I’ve been sucked into another paper universe, the world according to the Traveler Notebook (TN).

I entered dangerous territory when I started looking and liking photos of TNs on Instagram and Pinterest.

So I just could not help myself when I saw an online listing for three ZLYC traveler notebooks for sale.

I’m off watch some unboxing and set up You Tube videos.

Planning for 25.12.15

I’ve been creatively Filofaxing since I discovered the online Filofax community at the beginning of the year. The Christmas season is a very busy time of year for me, and this year I hope that my personal Domino here will help me plan and organise my way 25.12.15.

I made dividers and tabs using the hues of Christmas…

The planner is divided into six sections:
calendar, ideas, knitmas, projects, recipes, gifting which includes the Christmas card snail mail list and stocking stuffers.

image

I use the week on one page as my diary insert where I plan to write down reminders, due dates and Christmas socials.

I hope to make use of the project planning section…

Here I have a project pages for handmade gifting.

Summer Days…..

How I spend a summer day in July…

A planning morning at my local cafe, mainly to people watch as I managed to get a table by the window.

image

I am adding my creative touch in between the pages of my Filofax.

Staedler’s watercolour pencils are my favourite drawing / painting tools at moment.

image

Doodling a few flowers, then a few brushstrokes with water…

Something old is new again….

This well loved red Domino was started to look a bit on the tatty side.

image

I read few blog posts from Filofaxers who dyed or painted their planners.

So I rolled up my sleeves and began the makeover.

I took some fine sandpaper and lightly sanded the surface.

I used a water based adhesive to prime the surface.

Then applied a coat of acryluc paint inĀ  burnt umber and topped with a coat of black.

I finished it off with two coast of varnish and added a few stickers.

Now, do I move my knitting Filofax to this Domino….

Decorating for Canada Day…

I’m finally getting around to showing off my amazing wreath!

For Canada Day I have a very special wreath on my front door.

image

Made by a group of my knitterly/crafty friends for my birthday earlier this year. The colours remind me of the Canadian flag.

The creative stitching is lovely. …

Love the detail….

Insert memories here…

I am inspired to declutter my home environment after reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kando.

Little by little, I am using a few tips and tricks from the Konmari Method to tackle my clutter by focusing on
what to keep and what sparks joy.

I have a vast quantity of momentos and souvenirs stored and stacked in every nook and cranny of my home.

Here, I have a paper envelope for my Filofax, made from a paper bag that I kept as a souvenir from a holiday in Naples…

I made this Filofax dashboard from one of my birthdays cards from my fiftieth…
